The unprecedented assault on the rights of LBGTQ+ Americans is unacceptable in a country that professes to be the land of the free.

In the last five years, there has been a rise in parents being denied the right to take care of their children, children being denied the right to medical treatment, and people are being denied the right to simply exist in our public spaces. In 2023 alone, over 500 bills were introduced across the United States, including here in Georgia, that directly attack trans and gay citizens of our country.

I will work to ensure that the rights of the LBGTQ+ community are protected in the same manner as the rights of all American citizens. Specifically, I promise to propose legislation to clarify the Obergefell ruling protecting same-sex marriage and legislation to strengthen current anti-discrimination laws at the national level.
